Many AI technologies have successfully captivated the market, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, capable of performing human tasks. In other cases, the abilities and intelligence of AI technology can surpass human intelligence.
Faced with the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the business world is undoubtedly facilitated by automated processes that make tasks easier, faster, and more efficient. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that this causes concern among employees, fearing job loss and replacement by machines.
In a study by the University of Arkansas, ChatGPT-4 was pitted against 151 human participants in three different thinking tests. The tests were designed to assess the ability to generate unique solutions.
In the end, researchers found that ChatGPT-4's responses were more original and complex than those of humans in every thinking task, even when controlling for response fluency. In other words, ChatGPT-4 demonstrated a higher creative potential across a range of different thinking tasks.
The question arises: will AI rival human intelligence?
Elon Musk believes that AI will be smarter than the collective intelligence of humanity by 2029. Previously, American computer scientist and futurist Ray Kurzweil stated that AI would reach human-level intelligence by 2029.
"We (AI developers) haven't reached that point yet (human-level intelligence). But we'll get there, and I think everyone will agree by 2029," he said on the Joe Rogan podcast.
"I'm actually considered conservative. People think it will happen next year or the following year," Ray added.
Elon Musk responded to Ray's statement, which was reposted on the social media platform X or Twitter.
"AI may be smarter than any human next year. By 2029, AI may be smarter than the combined intelligence of all humans," he said on Wednesday (13/3).
Of course, the opinions of Elon Musk and Ray Kurzweil spark debate that has arisen since the inception of AI, but many still argue that AI will never be able to defeat humans. We'll just have to wait and see.
