Meeting with the CEO of Microsoft, Telkomsel's board discusses the potential of AI for digital transformation that empowers society

Telkomsel and Microsoft will continue to collaborate in delivering a variety of solutions that can enhance the digital lifestyle experience of customers to support Indonesia's digital progress and empower society through technology.

Telkomsel's board met directly in a special one-on-one meeting with Microsoft's Chairman & CEO, Satya Nadella, in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/4). During the meeting, Telkomsel and Microsoft discussed the vast potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on digital transformation, Telkomsel's commitment to implementing cutting-edge technology services for its customers, and Microsoft's commitment to supporting the empowerment of Indonesian society for a brighter future.

Telkomsel's President Director, Nugroho, stated, "As the leading digital telecommunication service provider in Indonesia that has long established a long-term partnership with Microsoft, Telkomsel is pleased to meet again directly with Microsoft's CEO for discussion and exchange of ideas. In his keynote speech in front of developers, data scientists, and technology enthusiasts at the Microsoft Build: AI Day event in Jakarta on the same day, Satya Nadella presented a number of Generative AI-based solutions from Microsoft that have been implemented by several organizations in Indonesia, such as Telkomsel, Universitas Terbuka, BRI, KAI, and eFishery.

In 2023, Telkomsel itself embarked on an innovation journey with Microsoft utilizing Microsoft Azure Open AI to deliver a transformation in customer service experience that is more responsive, empathetic, and efficient through the implementation of Virtual Assistant Veronika. In addition to helping strengthen interactions and providing product knowledge more quickly to customers, Veronika with Microsoft's Gen AI technology also supports the effectiveness of Telkomsel's customer service agent's work and reduces the company's conventional automation burden.

"This new generation of AI can transform the way everyone lives and works, including in Indonesia, thus helping Indonesia continue to move forward in this new era," said Satya Nadella.
