Acceleration of the National Data Center (PDN) construction, which has a processor capacity of 40 petabytes, 200 terabytes of memory, and is supported by a 20-megawatt power supply, is carried out using the design, supply, and installation method. After the design is approved, other processes follow in parallel to catch up with time and maintain the quality of work.

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology targets the completion of the National Data Center (PDN) by August 2024. Acting Director of Government Information Technology Application Services, Directorate General of Information Technology Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Aries Kurniawan stated that the first PDN would be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.

"Overall, we have approached about 32 percent. God willing, it will be ready for inauguration in August. President Joko Widodo is planned to inaugurate it as one of the first milestones for us to have an integrated data center," he explained in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (6/2/2024).

The acceleration of PDN construction is carried out using the design, supply, and installation method. After the design is approved, other processes follow in parallel to catch up with time and maintain the quality of work.

"We estimate that by August 17, 2024, the building will be completed with the exterior architectural condition or facade and interior already completed, including parking areas, gardens, and the surrounding landscape of the building. Then, the electrical equipment is also ready, and Commissioning Tests are conducted," explained Acting Director Aries Kurniawan.

The construction of this PDN is based on Presidential Regulation Number 95 of 2018 concerning the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE), which mentions that the SPBE infrastructure domain is divided into three, namely the National Data Center, Government Intranet, and Government Service Connection System.

The PDN is located in the Greenland International Industrial Centre, Deltamas, Cikarang, with an area of ​​approximately 15,994 m2. The project is a loan from the French Government with a total value of EUR164,679,680 or around Rp2.7 trillion with a construction period of 24 months starting from October 22, 2022.

"The PDN in Cikarang is built with a processor capacity of 25,000 cores, 200 terabytes of memory, 40 petabytes of storage, and a 20-megawatt mechanical electrical system for optimal operation," explained Aries.

The inauguration of the National Data Center (PDN) in Cikarang was previously carried out by the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Johnny G, in September 2022. The financing of the PDN construction comes from the assistance of the French government and the State Budget (APBN).

Initially, there were four construction points, including Labuan Bajo. However, the government chose to cut down on that location for efficiency reasons. And finally, it was decided to merge the Labuan Bajo PDN with IKN.
