Government accelerates INA Digital, no later than May 2024

President Jokowi has instructed all ministries to integrate with INA Digital no later than May next year.

The government continues to accelerate the transformation and integration of national digital services through the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas revealed significant progress regarding this matter, stating that Indonesia is on the brink of a new era in digital service transformation.

"This is the first time in history that the Republic of Indonesia will soon move towards national digital service integration," said Anas after attending a limited meeting (ratas) led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday (03/25/2024), as quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat's press release.

Through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 82 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Digital Transformation and Integration of National Digital Services, President Jokowi has prioritized nine key services that will soon be integrated into the national digital platform called INA Digital. Anas said that this is a significant step towards realizing efficient e-government.

"We have been continuously moving forward since this Perpres was issued, Perpres [Number] 82 is related to govtech, because we see that almost all of the top 20 countries in the world with e-government systems have their own govtech, they have government technology," he said.

INA Digital, managed by Peruri, aims to integrate various government services into one portal, facilitating access for the public, and improving interoperability between ministries and institutions. The Minister of PANRB said that there has been a significant increase in Indonesia's electronic government index internationally, and with the full implementation of INA Digital, Indonesia is expected to leap further in that ranking.

"Alhamdulillah, our government development index internationally has risen 30 ranks from 107 to 77. We are optimistic that with this implementation, our index will improve further," he said.

Several services that will soon be integrated include population administration, education, health, police, social assistance, and immigration. Anas said that President Jokowi has instructed all ministries to integrate with INA Digital no later than May next year, indicating the urgency and high commitment of the government in this digital transformation.

Anas hopes that this integration will not only facilitate access to services for the public but also improve government efficiency and transparency. With an emphasis on the use of modern technology and digitization, the Indonesian government aims to accelerate the provision of more responsive and accountable public services to the people.

"In the future, people will no longer need to download, just through one portal with SSO (single sign-on) access via the use of electronic certificates, once data is filled in for various services. Once this is completed, hopefully in May or June, to obtain digital population identity, people no longer need to go to the sub-district, to the village, just use biometrics and they will get the digital population identity," he concluded.
