The Indonesian and South Korean governments, through the Digital Government Cooperation Center (DGCC), continue to collaborate in the field of digital transformation.
Nanik Murwati, Deputy for Institutional and Governance Affairs at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), stated that the DGCC cooperation in 2024 will focus on strategic areas that prioritize accelerating digital transformation and integrating national digital services.
"The areas of cooperation this year include the implementation of Big Data Analytics and artificial intelligence, information security aspects in integrated digital identity services, and the upcoming Digital Government Roadmap of Indonesia for the 2025-2029 period," said Nanik during the Kick-Off Meeting of the Digital Government Cooperation Center in Jakarta, on Friday (06/09).
According to her, the implementation of Big Data Analytics and artificial intelligence, also known as Big Data and AI, is needed to support the provision of public services. This year, its application will focus on health and education services, as well as government administration services, particularly those targeting civil servants.
Furthermore, Nanik explained that the cooperation on information security for integrated digital identity services complements the results of the 2023 DGCC collaboration on the national digital ID service strategy.
"Therefore, cross-agency collaboration support is needed, especially from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and the Ministry of Home Affairs," Nanik added.
In addition, the cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea also includes the Digital Government Masterplan. This cooperation is necessary because the current SPBE (Electronic-Based Government System) Masterplan will expire in 2025 as per the SPBE Presidential Regulation, thus requiring a new roadmap for Indonesia's Digital Government for the 2025-2029 period, aligned with the national program targets of the new government period.
Nanik expressed hope that the collaboration would benefit both countries, particularly in positively impacting the quality of policy development and strengthening the implementation of government digital transformation in Indonesia as part of the national digital transformation.
"The Indonesia-Korea cooperation in SPBE has entered its eighth year. We are very grateful to be part of this collaboration and to play a role in strengthening the relationship between the Indonesian and South Korean governments," she added.
Park Soo-deok, Chargé d'Affaires (Acting Ambassador) of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Indonesia, said that Indonesia has made significant efforts in promoting digital government innovation. He noted that Indonesia's ranking in the UN e-Government Survey has continued to improve.
He also stated that the South Korean government will continue to support the 2024 Korea-Indonesia Digital Government cooperation projects related to AI and Big Data, the Digital Government Masterplan, and Digital Identity.
"I am pleased and proud that the South Korean government, through the Digital Government Cooperation Center, can contribute to these efforts and achievements," Park said.
